The Art of Hand-Reading: Self-Realization Through Palmistry

Jun 15-17, at the Omega Institute, Rhinebeck, NY

This weekend is for everybody who wishes to look deeper into themselves, and to know other people better as well.

The hand was the first psychology, and has been called God’s Road Map. This weekend we will learn to read and interpret the hand as a guide to self-realization and fulfillment in life.

Learn to read your own palm. Discover how the palm reflects strengths and weaknesses, untapped inner resources, and the best choices for satisfaction in lifestyle, love, and work.

About the Class
The journey to self-knowledge has many paths. Palmistry is one of the finest and most accessible methods for self-realization. Palmistry is a science and a universal language. The laws of Palmistry hold true for all the hands in the world. Originating thousands of years ago in India and China. Remarkably easy to learn, Palmistry is an appropriate study for anyone with an interest in human nature, and a desire to be of service in a unique way.

Through lectures, discussions, and experiential practice, we learn about the major lines and the seven mount archetypes of the hand.

We will discover why each archtype has unique differences by learning about their basic modifiers: flexibility of the hand, skin texture, fingers, and more. We examine the parts of the hand that reveal insights about lifestyle, love, sex, and marriage preferences; the best career choices; and the unique strengths and weaknesses for each person. We will also explore how the lines reveal periods of ease and challenge in the various aspects of your life.

The Omega Institute is beautiful, cool and green. A perfect place to spend a summer weekend. Wonderful campus, wonderful food, and easy to reach by train from NYC with a scenic ride along the Hudson River. Flying into NYC or Albany, NY is also a good option.

Tarot and Kabbalah: The Minor Arcana Brought to Light on the Tree of Life

June 1, 2018, 7-10 pm at New York Open Center

Ellen Goldberg

The tarot is a river of Hermetic wisdom into which streams of Kabbalah, alchemy, and astrology have flowed. This evening workshop will center on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, a symbol at the heart of Western mysticism. United by the Law of Correspondence, the study of the Tree of Life illuminates the meaning and use of the tarot.

Although often misunderstood, the 56 cards of the minor arcana translate the macrocosmic forces portrayed in the major trump cards into the panorama of everyday life. An understanding of the 10 Sefirot of the Tree of Life gives a grounded meaning to the “pip” cards (the ace through 10 card) of each suit, as well as to the four court cards, thus providing a solid vocabulary with which to understand our daily experiences as the transformative processes they really are.

We will also look at some of the Kabbalistic themes reflected in the tarot, such as the healing of the world through the restoration of balance between the masculine and feminine.

Students of all levels can enjoy this presentation, which will include learning a simple yet profound Kabalistic reading for self-reflection.

Note: The Rider-Waite deck will be used for discussion, but the material will apply to any favorite deck you wish to bring.

New Book Release: The Art and Science of Hand Reading

Art and Science of Hand Reading Palmistry is a science and a universal language. The hand tells a story about your talents, relationships, health, and how you feel about yourself. It reveals periods of ease or challenge in your life, and it speaks about your weaknesses and the traits you need to develop. As you change, so do your hands, reflecting the progress you have made.

In this comprehensive guide to hand reading, based on Ellen Goldberg’s 40 years of teaching palmistry and the Western Mystery tradition, the authors make the powerful insights of the hand accessible in an inviting and user-friendly manner. The book presents the character traits and personality archetypes associated with each of the seven mounts of the palm and shows how to determine which are most influential in the nature of the individual. The mount archetypes reveal the lifestyle, love, sex, and marriage preferences; the best career choices; and the unique strengths and weaknesses for each person. The book also examines other factors that enhance the qualities revealed by the mount types, including the flexibility of the hand, texture of the skin, and the shapes of the fingers, fingertips and nails. The meaning of each major and minor line is described in detail as well as the influence the person’s own mind has in healing defects and obstacles found on their lines. The authors also provide accurate timing guides for each line, making it possible to locate specific events and to see how your lines change over time.

Presenting the hand as a guide to self-fulfillment, The Art and Science of Hand Reading incorporates correspondences to other mystical sciences such as astrology, Kabbalah, the Hermetic teachings, and archetypal psychology.

It also includes practical examples and more than 600 illustrations to show how to integrate the meanings of each part of the hand to form a complete picture of your inner psychology and your ever-changing destiny. Ellen Goldberg, primary author, is an internationally renowned teacher of Tarot and Palmistry. She is the founder and director of the School of Oracles and has been on the faculty of the New York Open Center since 1986. She is also a psychotherapist and has maintained a private therapy practice in New York City for more than 30 years.

Dorian Bergen, assistant author, is the co-owner of ACA Galleries in New York City. A student and practitioner of Palmistry for more than 25 years, she has a special interest in documenting how children’s hands change over time.
